Anna Moore: Factors That Influenced Career Choices
When choosing the ideal career of your choice, most people believe that it is an individual’s decision on what they wish to do for a living. However, in reality, several factors influence your choices and determine the career path you should be walking on.
When it came to American actress, singer/songwriter, producer, and activist Anna Moore, she believed that her multiple career choices resulted from more than just her own aspirations.
Initially, Anna has always been interested in the idea of becoming an actress – having starred as a young child as Mowgli in the Berkeley Regional Theatre production of The Jungle Book. In her pursuit of being an actress, she knew she had to polish her skills, which is why she started studying acting at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts in New York City at the age of 17. In addition to that, she also studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and attended the International Theatre Workshop in Amsterdam.
Eventually, she made her first on-screen debut in 2007 when she starred in Magnolia Pictures’ dramatic feature called “The Life Before Her Eyes” which soon led her to be a part of other highly acclaimed feature films, such as “LA Rush,” “I’m Charlie Walker,” “Shit Year,” “Fighting Fish” and many more. Her strong passion and determination for acting were acknowledged by the entertainment industry when she won the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award for Best Actress” for her lead role in “Fighting Fish” at the Vision Film Festival in NYC.
Even though being an actress resulted from her own choice and beliefs, her other career choices were influenced by the environment in which she grew up.
As a child, Anna Moore was always actively aware of the concepts of global politics, and would often engage in political conversations with her family. This is why she also received a politics degree at the New York University College of Arts and Science, while still actively pursuing her acting career.
When it comes to her engagement in political ventures, she had always been involved in political groups and clubs during her middle and high school years. One of her significant achievements during high school was being awarded the title of “Lobbyist of the Year” in the State of California while participating in the statewide Youth & Government mock legislature and court program, based in the CA State Capital of Sacramento.
The reason behind this award was Anna’s relentless efforts to raise awareness amongst her peers on private prisons and slave labor, which should be exterminated once the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution is altered. It is through her actions that her fellow students were made aware of the 13th Amendment, which has stated that slavery is illegal in the United States unless a person is convicted of a crime – a loophole that is used to generate profit through slave labor and preserve the practice of mass incarceration.
Furthermore, working in the entertainment industry also functioned as an influential factor in bringing about another career choice for Anna – music. She is currently invested in creating a fulfilling career through her passion for singing and weaving lyrical magic for her audience – starting with her debut single, “I Got Soul” which will drop in 2021 alongside the release of the feature film, “I’m Charlie Walker”, in which Anna stars opposite Mike Colter and Dylan Baker.
