Devagiri ZPHS Marks Constitution Day With Quiz And Reflections

Devagiri – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): National Constitution Day was celebrated with zeal at Devagiri Zilla Parishad High School on Tuesday. The event featured a vibrant quiz competition on the Indian Constitution and insightful speeches by the teaching faculty. Students from classes 8 to 10 enthusiastically participated, with Team A claiming victory and Team B emerging as runners-up. Prizes were awarded to both teams, making the occasion memorable for all involved.  

• A tribute to constitutional values

Headmaster C Harinath Babu, addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of Constitution Day. “This day reminds us of the immense effort by Dr. B R Ambedkar and the Constituent Assembly in creating a guiding framework for justice, equality, and liberty. Our Constitution is the cornerstone of democracy, and it is our duty to pass on these values to the next generation,” he said.  

He stressed the role of education in fostering constitutional awareness. “Schools are the breeding ground for tomorrow’s responsible citizens. By imparting constitutional knowledge, we empower students to become active participants in democracy,” Harinath Babu added.  

• LIFE: The core gift of the Indian Constitution  

“Just LIFE—Justice, Liberty, Fraternity, and Equality—are the fundamental principles gifted by the Indian Constitution,” said N Narasimha Reddy, SA Mathematics, during the school prayer on National Constitution Day. He encouraged students to remember the acronym Just LIFE, emphasizing its significance as the essence of India’s democratic framework.

• Embracing diversity through language

B Pandurangappa, SA Telugu, emphasized the Constitution’s recognition of India’s linguistic diversity. “Our Constitution respects every regional language, promoting unity in diversity. Telugu, as a classical language, reflects our cultural richness, and it is vital for students to value its legacy,” he remarked.  

V Jayaleela, SA Hindi, spoke about the unifying role of languages. “The inclusion of Hindi as the official language, alongside respect for other regional languages, epitomizes the inclusive vision of the Constitution. It fosters national unity while celebrating our differences,” she said.  

• A global perspective on the Constitution

Mercy Vijaya Leela, SA English, underlined the Constitution’s global relevance. “The Indian Constitution is a model admired worldwide for its foresight and inclusiveness. By learning English, our students can share this knowledge on international platforms and contribute to India’s global stature,” she stated.  

• Quiz sparks interest in constitutional knowledge

The highlight of the celebration was a quiz competition on the Indian Constitution, organized by P Haseena, SA Social Studies. The quiz tested students on topics like the Constitution’s history, fundamental rights and duties, and key amendments.  

Team A secured the top position with an outstanding performance, followed by Team B as runners-up. Speaking about the event, Haseena said, “This quiz was not just a test but an opportunity for students to delve into the Constitution’s significance. It is inspiring to see their enthusiasm and grasp of the subject.”  

• Celebrating democracy with the preamble

The program concluded with a collective reading of the Preamble by students and staff, symbolizing a reaffirmation of democratic values. “The Preamble encapsulates the essence of our Constitution. Reading it aloud is a reminder of our commitment to justice, liberty, and fraternity,” said all teachers in one voice. 

• A unified effort for constitutional awareness

M Krupathi, SA Mathematics, and PET T Rajesh, along with non-teaching staff H Parushuram and H Lakshmi, actively participated in the program. Their involvement underscored the collective effort to make Constitution Day a meaningful learning experience.  

National Constitution Day celebrations at Devagiri ZPHS served as an educational and inspirational event, reaffirming the commitment to the values that form the foundation of India’s democracy.
