A Prophecy of When It Happens
When it happens, as it must—the most ardent desires of those who want it to happen not being able to hasten its happening; the most horrific terrors of those who do not want it to happen not having the power to prevent it from happening—what, finally, will be said in answer to the question “What Really Happened?”
It was as if, all in one movement, the scales finally fell from our eyes.
It was as if, for the very first time, even after, perhaps, years upon years of creating images of what it would be like when it happened—images to distract from horrific and even more horrific memories of previous lives too numerous to count; even after fearing, and being terrified, that it would never happen during this life; hoping, nevertheless, that it would happen some day before death; when it finally did happen it was unlike anything that anyone had ever imagined or ever could have imagined ever happening.
An assumption had been made—an assumption which, now, appears to have been grindingly, literally impossibly stupid—an assumption which, finally, was blindingly proven to have been wrong. And not merely wrong; but catastrophically wrong. And, once that assumption had been proven wrong—although ‘proven’ is not exactly the right word—the entire image, unbounded in space as well as time, collapsed in an instant of the massive weight of its own unreality; almost as if it had never even existed in the first place; which, in any case, it hadn’t; being nothing more than an illusion based upon a lack of knowledge; that lack of knowledge being the source of the creation of the image; an image which could not help but be annihilated, and catastrophically, once that knowledge became blindingly clear.
It had always been assumed, with each and every violation of the Moral Law—from the most microscopic instances of interpersonal unkindness and viciousness, to the most massive and continuing instances of pre-mediated violence, torture and genocide on a planetary scale—that, irrespective of whether or not there was any God; there certainly was not, in any case, a Moral order to reality.
It had always been assumed—and, certainly, the religious ‘authorities’ had never said anything to seriously challenge the assumption; and, moreover, they had been so very well paid to keep their silence—that there was, in reality, no punishment in this world (or ever, for that matter) for the violation of the Moral Law; and, just as certainly, that there was no particular benefit in this world (nor in eternal time, for that matter) for the adherence to the Moral Law.
The assumption had always been made—from the man or the woman in the street; to the religious officials and the theologians, mixing their poisons and spinning their webs of deceit; to the teachers conditioning their students to be nothing more than unquestioning cogs in a heartless machine; to the scientists and engineers, creating their tools of human sacrifice; to the doctors pharmaciding their patients; to the technicians and the bureaucrats of every kind; to the politicians and the business men and women working their ‘deals’ only to their own immediate advantage; to the lawyers and the financial experts who made it all possible; keeping society spiraling, ever downward, toward only its annihilation; and to, especially, the soldiers, sailors and airmen deploying their machines and technologies of human sacrifice—that we live forever, even if life after wretched life after life of horror, in an endless hell-world of absolute Moral chaos.
The assumption had always been made that, faced with the choice of violating or observing the Moral Law, it was always nothing more than a matter of idiosyncratic personal choice; that one could adhere to or violate the Moral Law at one’s pleasure without any fear whatsoever of consequences, either good or bad; and without any particular effect upon reality itself; and, especially, that there was, in fact, no cumulative effect at all of the billions upon billions of individual Moral choices that were being made by the people on this planet on a daily basis.
And that is the massive illusion that collapsed in less than an instant as a result of nothing more than the weight of its own sheer stupidity.
Somehow, in an instant, it was Revealed that the ultimate consequence of billions upon billions upon billions of individual, microscopic personal Moral choices over years and decades and centuries and thousands upon thousands of years over who knows how many lifetimes—each and every instance of unkindness; each and every instance of viciousness; each and every instance of sexual violence; each and every instance of a man taking advantage of a woman’s vulnerability; each and every instance of a woman cynically rejecting the words of a man said with an open heart (with, instead, all manner of spoken as well as unspoken accusations of evil); each and every instance of denying another person’s painful reality in pursuit of one’s own wealth and pleasure—had, ultimately, created a reality of both absolute Moral chaos and unrelenting, boundless violence, bloodshed and evil; not because such absolute Moral chaos was actually the reality; but because that is the reality that had been created (significantly by the religious ‘authorities’), and from the summation of all of these billions upon billions of human imMoral choices; a reality which, ever after it seemed, continued to be created, and relentlessly, by those who had no understanding whatsoever that it was they themselves who had created such an horrific reality; a reality which they unceasingly and arrogantly cursed in God’s name (even, credibly, the religious officials and the theologians among them) as if they had not been, in any way, involved in its creation; as if such an horrific reality had simply been imposed upon them.
What they did not understand then, but what is understood now, is that men and women are, whether they like it or not, and with all of the horror that that responsibility entails, co-creators with the Creator; that, by their thousands upon millions upon billions and trillions of individual, minuscule, microscopic Moral choices over hundreds or thousands of lifetimes they could—and did—ultimately create a world only of continual and unrelenting horrors; a world in which the very annihilation of human civilization itself actually began to be considered as a rational answer to the problem of human suffering.
That is the illusion which collapsed; the illusion of an utter and absolute individual irresponsibility for the evil that is in the world.
And what was the name of that illusion?
The illusion that, because there is no Creator, man himself must be the ‘Creator’…
When, in fact, all you need is two active brain cells—and to look around you—to be able to see that men and women have many more characteristics of a Destroyer than they do of any ‘Creator’.
But, as was so clearly demonstrated by the catastrophic collapse of the illusion; there is, in fact, a Creator after all; a Creator Who is described, as follows, in the opening passages of the Thanksgiving Hymns of the Dead Sea Scrolls written by Jesus:
“Thou are long-suffering in Thy judgements
and righteous in all Thy deeds.
By Thy wisdom [all things exist from] eternity,
and before creating them Thou knewest their works {and their words}
for ever and ever.
[Nothing] is done [without Thee]
and nothing is known unless Thou desire it.”
From The Dead Sea Scrolls in English, G. Vermes, Penguin Books, 1975, pg. 150
